Back to School: South Nashville Edition
Did you know that the University of Tennessee has a Nashville campus in South Nashville? Yep, in a generic office building on Polk Ave the UT College of Social Work shares space with several businesses. That is where today I will begin to pursue a Masters of Science in Social Work.
I'm a bit terrified, overwhelmed, as it's been 6 years since I've stepped foot in a classroom. But mostly I'm excited to start on a path towards a career dedicated to the things that I try to promote, through this blog, in my spare time anyway. That is, the importance of communication as a means to the betterment of communities and the well-being of the individuals in them. What exactly I'll do job-wise after school I'm not yet clear on.
This does mean that I will be leaving the music business, although not immediately. Financial circumstances require that I keep working. Unfortunately, between work full-time, school part-time, a continued commitment to SNAP, and this blog, something's gotta give.
I don't plan to neglect SNL altogether, but it's likely I won't be posting everyday, or every week for that matter. I will continue to advocate for the restoration of Browns Creek and for a redeveloped, greener TN State Fairgrounds that will serve a better purpose for the residents of South Nashville. I hope that people will continue to use this website as a resource as they explore South Nashville.
When I started this blog, I did not anticipate making so many wonderful friends & acquaintances through it, for which I am so, so grateful. Thank you so much for putting up with my quirkiness, thank you so much for reading, and most of all, thank you for participating in this community.

That's excellent, Jen! Rebecca recently graduated from that program. I know she'd be happy to chat if you ever have any questions.

Thank you both!
One of the greatest gifts we ever receive is to know our own minds and to be able to act on your dreams while time is still your friend. I'm so proud of you I'm near bursting.
That means a lot, Old Guy! Thank you and thank you for your contributions to this blog.
