Another reason to love this city

If you haven't read about the horrible defacement of the Al-Farooq Muslim Youth Center, go do so here. This place is practically in my backyard so when I'd heard about it all I could think about was giving every Muslim person I see a hug (profiling for hugs?) to show them how sorry I am that racist redneck idiots still exist in this country.

A much more reasonable person would just do what Tim did:
“When I saw it, I just broke down crying,” the self-described unemployed truck driver said. “I went straight to Home Depot and bought a gallon of paint.”

As he handed over the paint he said, “I can’t tell you how sorry I am. I hope you know that [this act] doesn’t represent my city. Again, I can’t tell you how sorry I am.” (from The City Paper)
Every time I read that I get the 'warm & fuzzies'. Thanks Tim, for reminding us that in the midst of hate and chaos, civility and kindness still exist and thank you City Paper for making it newsworthy.
